Through the power of a joint vision, perseverance and careful planning, Jam for Brunch has been able to not only survive, but thrive. Speaking on how it came to be Zeus shared "It was time for something different. Nobody really wants to be out in the clubs anymore and we knew that so we wanted to create a place where people could come and enjoy a great vibe, with their kids, in a nice chilled environment, and just keep it very light. We don't go well into the night in the name of fun, we wanted it to be a place where people could be relaxed and so far, I'd like to believe we've done that and are doing that".
Taking the stage last night he shared how doing Jam for Brunch has basically been like raising his first child with Zandi. "The story of Jam for Brunch is heavily interwoven into our own love story and I'd like to thank my beautiful, lovely wife for holding it down and being with me through this journey, and all others".
He then proceeded to launch into a set that covered all his hits as well as two tracks we haven't heard yet, which he says will be on his upcoming album, Pieces of the Now.
"I think we've all had certain ideas of consciousness... The dashikis and the Africa pendants and whatever but at some point I realized I can't... Perform Africanness because I already embody it. It is me," he shared during an earlier conversation. Based on the songs he performed we think it's safe to say that this might just be his best, album yet. There's a noticeable maturity in his cadence and pen game - One brought about by maturity and settling into one's self. A release date hasn't been announced yet, but we'll keep you posted.
