Over the past few years Mothusi Maxwell's career's been up and down as he chases his dream of working in the acting and entertainment scene.  Many Gaborone based youth will know him as a former dancer with Buckville Donkeez, but as Mothusi grew he found himself drawn to Film and TV and subsequently started pursuing a place in the scene.

He studied Live Performance at AFDA and over the years auditioned for plenty roles, as well as hosting gigs such as the MTV Base VJ Search and Mzansi Insider, rising up the ranks in the competitions but never quite getting that big break.

"It was horrible. I don't know how many times I sat in my bathroom while taking a shower and crying because I didn't understand what was going on" he said in an interview with Sowetan Live.

Somewhere on the long and strenuous journey he decided to take his capabilities to the internet and began making funny clips with his friends in a bid to both showcase his talent and gain a larger following.  As luck would have it, that would be the thing that changes everything, and he got a call from a casting director  not long afterwards.

This year Mothusi got a role on Ferguson Films' The Throne as Moreri and in a Twitter post said it's been "the highlight" of his year. Mothusi also shared that he can't wait to "submerge himself into this character next year" which we guess serves as confirmation that not only is the show coming back, he is too. We're super happy for him, and we're certain this is only the beginning of what will be a fruitful career.
