It's always a bitter-sweet experience to witness a great actor leave a show, especially when we know the potential the character has to blow up into one of the show's most significant characters.

So you can imagine how disappointed we were when we found out that Moshidi Motshegwa, who portrays the role of Malefu on The River was to no longer appear on the show.

In a recent radio interview, Moshidi confirmed that the writers of the show had decided to discontinue Malefu's storyline.
Which is quite unfortunate as Malefu was adored by many of the show's viewers.

During her 702 interview with Azania Mosaka, Moshidi made it clear that there were no issues with the creators of the show it is just the creators no longer had a storyline for Malefu.

"They (Directors and Producers) said they don't have a story for Malefu. It's as simple as that, that is what the producers have said. I am repeating what the producers said."

Although her role on The River was short-lived, the actress has expressed that she has no regrets and believes she did a great job on the show.

"For me, the most important thing is that I came back, I did the work and I did it at the level I wanted. I have no regrets about the work I have done."

The second season of The River has since commenced and although we will no longer see Moshidi on the show, it does not mean it is the last time we'll see her on our TV screens.

We wish her nothing but the best with her future endeavours.
