This time, Ladysmith Black Mambazo is making it’s way to Botswana, where they will be performing for charity. The event ‘Night With Ladysmith Black Mambazo’ has been slated for the 31st of May at the University of Botswana Indoor Sports Centre.
The proceeds from the evening shall go to the Botswana Gender Based Prevention and Support Centre as a way of supporting the structure financially for the work they do.
According to a post by The Patriot, Tsholo Kgotlele, the Client Services Executive at Pantone Reign Advertising, who are the main sponsors of the event said’
“This dinner with a highly renowned musical group is all meant for charitable work and this time around on its debut we have selected to sponsor Botswana Gender Based Prevention and Support Centre. Next Year a different NGO will be selected for funding as well.”
The Botswana Gender Based Violence and Prevention Centre is a non-profit organisation which aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence in Botswana. This is done through the provision of temporary shelter, counselling, community education and outreach amongst others. Issues of gender based violence have a constant need to be addressed daily and Botswana is taking a stand to help it’s NGOs be able to deliver their mandates.
