Kaone Kario is one of the women that has proved that one can make it despite their age, race, gender or background.
Having won the Nokia Face of Africa at the age of 19, the celebrity fashion and billboard model has never set her foot down ever since then. She has risen to become one of the most recognizable top models around the whole world.
Kario who is now based in Cape Town, South Africa has done a number of television commercials for cosmetic brands and has also appeared on several billboards all around the globe.
Born and raised in Maun Botswana, Kaone Kario said that she is proud to be a well known model around the world, especially given that she comes from a small town in Botswana. She also aspires to motivate many young people who would want to choose a career in modeling and fashion.
Kario has appeared on multiple magazine covers that include Elle. Marie Claire,
Cosmopolitan and Glamour to mention just a few. She has also retail stores such as Edgars, Woolworths and Mr. Price.
Many who are stereotypical about fashion models think that the models are just beautiful people without brains but to Kaone it is a different issue. The Nivea face brand ambassador holds a diploma in media studies and she has been passionate about television since she was young.
Her career is more dominated by television productions and in 2010 she became Top Billing Presenter Search finalist and in 2015 she made her first debut on the screens when she played a role of Leano on Ayeye, a television drama on DSTV.
Besides appearing on television and bagging billboard gigs, she also hosts a blog that she encourages young people to follow their dreams and abstain from addictive substances like alcohol and drugs.
Kaone Kario opened up that she never dreamt of becoming a model and when she went to audition for her first modeling gig she thought it was for presenting a programme on K-TV but it came out that she became a model.
Kario has traveled around the world, showcasing her career and she has lived in New York City in the United States of America for close to ten years before she decided to stay in Cape Town.
Other things she wishes to do includes farming where she plans to farm some vegetables and indulge into Floriculture in the near future.
