The 34-year-old recently surprised a lot of people when she began to share pictures of her shaved head.
Looking gorgeous as ever, people wondered why she shaved her hair off considering that she had gorgeous and healthy hair.
Gail has since come out to explain why she cut her hair, this time around it is not because she felt like it, but because she recently found out that she was diagnosed with Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA)
CCCA is a common cause of hair loss in black women, Gail told her story of how she found out she was diagnosed with the disease after her routine hair wash at the salon.
"A few months ago I went to the salon for a routine hair wash. To my shock, after my wash, a big chunk of my hair was GONE!!! 😳 After a few weeks of “self medicating”, I decided to consult a dermatologist. CCCA - Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia was the diagnosis. Simply put ... a very common cause of Alopecia or hair loss in black women," she explained.
Thankfully, Gail immediately began treatment which has been working well for her and her hair has been growing back as well.
She has explained that the reason why she decided to share her story is because a lot of black women leave this issue until it's too late which eventually leads to permanent hair loss.
Therefore, her plea is for women who are diagnosed with CCCA to get treatment as soon as possible before it's too late.
The treatment will go a long way in not only helping with growing your hair back but will also assist with hairline issues as well.
