We had that conversation.
The Managing director for 5 For Change Robyn Deutsch stated, “There is nobody in South Africa that better exemplifies the exact combination of social change leadership and a celebration of glamour that 5 For Change strives to bring to life each year with our galas than Bonang. She is our dream choice to be our first 5 For Change Maker Award recipient and we are honoured she will join us to accept the award and help ring in what we know will be our grandest event yet.”
Bonang not only has a Bursary Foundation that helps finance young people through school, she recently spoke at the UN HQ about girls' education in Africa as well in front of world leaders including Theresa May and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
So if anyone's deserving, it's definitely her.
What we didn't deserve though, was the loss of edges.
Bonang stepped out for the ceremony yesterday and we really could not have prepared for how stunning she looked.
Draped in a Viollioti Fashion Institute gown with enough cleavage to make one drive into traffic and a high bun, fringe combo hairdo, she absolutely had jaws dropping.
THAT's how you accept an Award for being a pioneer with a heart of Gold, kids.
