For ages now entertainers have murmured about sabotage, nepotism and glass ceilings, and it looks like the conversation has finally moved from backstage, to Bots Twitter.
While South African Twitter sought to #OpenUpTheIndustry it looks like our local entertainers just don't want to be blackballed (And I use the term very loosely).
Dj Boogie Sid took to Twitter to share his thoughts, and sparked the conversation.
That in turn opened the door for many more notable names to step up and throw in their 2 cents.
"It's actually quite sad"- Samantha Mogwe
One young man agreed with Sid's sentiments, and added that he feels this happens because gatekeepers in the Industry don't want to share any of their gains and don't care about the next man.
Oneal said he simply didn't have the heart for the politics, and ultimately he had to choose his health over the inevitable stress.
While Bonni wrote back that it's actually not a situation that's specific to our Industry, and it comes in many forms, across industries.
The thing with systems like this is, essentially it's like the Government. Those who got in early, got in and they'll keep reshuffling cabinets and keeping the same derelict faces in positions of power til they wither away and are succeeded by their children.
And the cycle goes on and on.
