Idols SA has lost approximately 324 847 viewers following the alleged axing of Somizi Mhlongo. The star was allegedly shown the door after an audio here his estranged husband Mohale Motaung exposed him for allegedly being physically and emotionally abusive was leaked.
Somizi released a statement and vehemently denied the allegations saying they are a smear campaign to taint his reputation and affect his income streams. This resulted in SA Idols dumping him but the show is suffering now as the viewership has reportedly taken a huge knock.
This follows after some of Somizi's die-hard have fans promised to stop watching the show if he does not return back. The show apparently had more than R1 million before he left however, after his exit only 600 000 viewers stayed with the show.
Following the announcement, viewers vowed to never ever watch the competition show until they bring him back.
