The entire nation is still in shock following the passing of media mogul and TV actor Shona Ferguson has passed on. Conrad Mwanza, who is a representative from the Ferguson Foundation, confirmed to Channel 24 that the 47-year-old actor is no more.

Shona died this afternoon and his family has pleaded for privacy as they process the shocking news. "Yes, Mr Ferguson passed away at noon today. And all the family is asking for at the moment is just to mourn in private. But it's very difficult, you can imagine, for Connie and the family," he said.

The Ferguson Foundation confirmed that the actor died due to COVID-19 related complications.

"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr. Shona Ferguson. He passed away at noon today (Friday, 30 July 2021). Mr. Ferguson’s untimely passing was due to Covid-19 related complications, and not a heart operation as reported in the media. We ask that you give the family time to process this painful loss and respect their space during this time."

Sunday World recently reported a few days ago that Shona was in the ICU following a heart operation. Shona died at Milpark Private Hospital in Johannesburg where he had been admitted a few days earlier. A source who spoke to the publication told them that Connie is busy arranging his funeral.  “I can confirm that he just died. Connie is busy with the funeral arrangements.”

Shona's wife Connie Ferguson could not be reached for a comment as her phone went unanswered. Here are a few reactions from Twitter to the news.
It has been a challenging month for Connie and her family since her brother passed away recently. Moses would have celebrated his birthday a few days ago, and Connie remembered him.

"Happy 1st Heavenly Birthday big bro. I love you and I miss you so much! Rest Budas. We may have lost you here but we’ve gained an angel in heaven. I’m sure Moms is singing loudest for you there.👼 Love and miss you both so much!" Her daughter Lesedi also tested positive for COVID-19 but she conquered the virus.
