The musical genius that has many mesmerized by his soothing vocals and catchy songs turns 33 today! Born on 21 January 1988 as Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba affectionately known as Samthing Soweto, is one of South Africa's most talented singer-songwriter. 

His highly acclaimed song "Akanamali", released in 2017 got him the attention and limelight he truly deserves.

Versatile and talented, he began his career with Capella and Soul in his debut album, This N That Without Tempo (2010). In his second album Isphithiphithi that was released in 2019, he introduced fusions of Afro pop, Amapiano and R&B.

Refusing to work with Jub Jub

Late November 2020, Jub Jub released his highly awaited Ndikhokhele Remix audio as well as the official music video. Jub Jub’s fans felt that Samthing Soweto’s presence in the song would have elevated it to another level altogether. When asked about it, Jub Jub told fans that Samthing Soweto refused to work with him.
