Today is day one of her series and she took to social media to school us on the dance. She said, "...baSubiya tribe is allocated around the Chobe district. Seperu folkdance is the essence of Veekubane culture, a dance to show Happiness.
Mushishi is the main attire of Seperu along with dibaga (beads).

The dancers reflect an image of a peacock tail with the multi-layered Mushishi.
I further learned that the young woman is taken into into initiation for 2 months, and at the end of it the villagers sing for the young woman who then joins the celebration as the villagers give her gifts while singing and dancing. The more you read on it the more you see how amazing our culture is"

Yesterday she also took to Instagram to announce the series. She said, "It’s that time of the year again for our beautiful country. One thing I’ve always admired about our country is our culture, how diverse we are & how we show it off. Be it dance, the food, fashion and tourism.

"About two years ago I learned a lot on traditional dance and got the chance to perform it in a 1 hour production for Independence. I learnt so much then about the different traditional dances and the attires. It’s truly amazing. I don’t even have to mention the food, Amazing! I love embracing the diverse & different tribes we have, and of course being a young Morolong woman.

This is MsPhenyo: 4 Days of Style. The next few days will be informative, make you feel nostalgic & proud to be born a Motswana as we celebrate 55 years of Independence."
