Vee Mampeezy is Botswana’s most loved House - Kwasa sensation. His real name is Odirile Vee Sento. Vee is also called kgosi ya stratla, Mpinche, and king of Kwaito kwasa.

Vee Mampeezy Age


Vee was born and raised in Hukuntsi village in the Kgalagadi District, Botswana. He was born on 17 May 1983. He is currently 36 years old.


Vee Mampeezy Marriage 


Vee is married to, former model, Kagiso, who is currently the Shell brand ambassador, and a DJ as well.
 
The couple met in 2003 during the President Holidays whereby Kagiso was taking part in a beauty contest. 

Vee and Kagiso got married on his birthday, on May 17, 2014. Their lavish wedding was attended by the creme de la creme of the music industry, President Ian Khama, and cabinet ministers.

Famous fashion designer Gert Johan Coetzee designed Kagiso’s dress was.

Vee has two children, a girl and a boy. The boy’s name is Elijah and he was born in 2007. His baby daughter, Armani Amen Omatla, was born in December 2015. 

 

Vee Mampeezy Career


In order to start his music career, Vee had to sell his property. He used the money he earned to recorded his first song. Vee told GaonaLive that no record label wanted to sign him because they didn’t like his music. 

Vee notes that his first song opened doors for him and even helped him to secure a sponsorship from Yarona FM. In 2001, Vee released his debut album Pompa Tswidi. His follow-up album Lamalanga which he released in 2002 is what put him on the map, however.

In his career, the artist has worked with some of the biggest names in the show biz industry.

2016 saw him call upon some of South Africa’s biggest stars to collaborate with him for his album Vee Mampeezy

The album featured appearances from Dj Maphorisa and Dj Buckz on the song Sele. In the same year, he also worked with award-winning artists DJ Tira and Naak MusiQ on the song Jaiva.

Other top South African artists he has worked with include – Kuli Chana, the late Sfiso Ncwane, and multi-award-winning Hip-Hop artist Cassper Nyovest.
 
It was in 2019 when he released Dumalana, a song featuring Zimbabwean artist Dr. Tawanda.  The song has millions of views on YouTube. Another Zimbabwean artist that Vee has featured alongside is Jah Prayzah


Vee Mampeezy Awards

 
Vee has won several awards during his long career, including the Metro FM One Africa award in 2017 for his song ‘I Do’. He was the first Botswanan artist to win a Metro FM award.

In 2019, Vee’s Dololo song won the best music video award at the President's Day Competitions.
 
“Dololo just won the best video on the president awards 🔥🙌glory to the boss #JESUS!!!” Vee wrote on Facebook. 

Vee Mampeezy Unreleased Albums


In an interview with GaonaLive, Vee pointed out that he recorded his first album which sadly never got released. The Botswana emcee added that he didn't know what happened to the album which he had finished while he still had sponsorship from Yarona FM.  

"Up to now, I don't know where the album is," he told GaonaLive. 

In 2018, while at the Maitisong Festival event in Lobatse, Vee lost a CD with his unreleased music. He offered a cash reward of P 10 000 to anyone who would find the CD and bring it back to him.  


Vee Mampeezy Broke


Upon releasing his hit song Taku Taku Vee let fans know that he had no money. Although the song was being played everywhere, and everyone was expecting him to be rolling in cash, Vee pointed out that he was broke and he didn’t even have money for bread. 

“I remember after Taku Taku, I didn’t have money. I couldn’t even buy bread”, the Botswana superstar told GaonaLive. 

He added that he had to buy a bicycle to travel to get to his gigs. At this low point in his life, all his friends were gone, and he noted that what kept him going was the faith that someday he will make it big in the industry.  

Vee Mampeezy Businesses 


Vee is signed to Universal Music Group, he also owns a record label called Black Money Makers. He launched his label in 2006. 

Black Money Makers is located in Gaborone. Under his label, he has signed artists such as Mentees, Mingo, and Exodus.  

Vee a serial entrepreneur, has his own mineral water business. The MaVeeta mineral water was launched in 2010. The businessman also owns his line of condoms. 

He recently announced that he has launched his very own healthy drink called Vee Mampeezy Aloe Water. This is another win as he continues to expand his empire.

In September 2021 Vee secured another major bag, as he signed a deal to have his very own soft bread. This new business venture is another one of his many sources of income and he is coming for everything.

Vee made the big announcement by sharing a picture of him on his Instagram account, where he was seen signing the deal.
A few weeks after the announcement Vee took to social media to share a picture of his soft bread named Africas's Soft Bread. The soft bread has already hit the shelves and we hope those who have bought are enjoying it.


Vee Mampeezy Brand Endorsements


Vee was appointed to be the brand ambassador of Orange Telecommunications. He was appointed to the role in 2017, his contract was renewed in 2018.

He shared his excitement on Facebook:  “JESUS has done it again. The good news is I want to announce that I've just signed a new deal with Orange for 2 years. Most of the contracts were 1 year but this one is the longest and first of its kind!!!! Next week I'm revealing the artwork and name of my new album. Album loading .......... 27%” 



Vee was also appointed as an ambassador for JB Sports in 2017.

Vee Mampeezy Philanthropy


The multi-award-winning artist likes giving to the poor and runs a charity organisation called JIL (Jesus is Love) Foundation where he often visits the poor to give them food.

After a recent stint in hospital, Vee took to Instagram to show just how thankful he is for life. He said, "Finally I’m out of Sir Ketumile Hospital and I would like to thank KING JESUS, Pastors, intercessor, doctors and nurses my Fans, and everyone who was praying 🙏🏿 for me.

"I really appreciate your support guys, much LOVE ❤️. There is no how I can thank the LORD except by donating ko Kasi that’s why my team is going to donate this bread. BOTSWANA 🇧🇼 STAY SAFE"
Vee's wife Kagiso Sento thanked everyone on her Instagram stories for the prayers. 

She said, "Thank you so much for the love y'all, he is finally home and doing very well. God bless y'all"
Vee recently announced that he and Charma Gal have partnered with Fnb Botswana to battle it out on stage on the 28th of May. "Ladies and Gentlemen don't forget the real battle on stage 28th May, it's a date!!!!🤞 Thank u FNBB FOUNDATION for sponsoring this event🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🔥🔥!!! tla be Go swa motho ke gore gole Okavango gole le Makgobokgobo ,Re Dumalana ka Sekuta, Personal code ele Important !!!"

This initiative is formed to help raise funds to assist artists who have been affected by the pandemic.

Vee Mampeezy Controversy


Vee has been accused of only supporting local artists after they receive recognition. 

William Last KRM posted a video of himself singing Don't wake me up on his Instagram page and he got a shout-out from Chris Brown. Immediately after the American superstar posted William, Vee Mampeezy took a screenshot of the post and posted it to his own Twitter account. 

This shoutout did not go well for a Twitter user called @_Mjasco. The tweep decided to put Vee on blast and claimed the Dumalana hitmaker was only recognising William because he had been endorsed internationally.

Of course, this accusation did not sit well with his fans who felt Vee was being attacked unfairly. A fan even went back into the archives to prove that Vee has always supported William.

Vee who usually ignores insults and accusations just let it slide and kept it moving. 

Vee Mampeezy Cars 


Vee drives some of the most expensive cars in the world.  In an Instagram post he shared, he showed off eight of his luxurious cars. His cars range from Range Rover, Mercedez Benz, VW, and BMW.


He bought a Porsche and shared his excitement on Instagram.
 
 “ I never thought one day I will say "honey where are the keys for the Porsche" JESUS Thank u for another blessing..PORSCHE!!!WOW, I'm humbled,” he captioned the picture of the Porsche. 

Vee Mampeezy House 


Vee owns a mansion. His beautiful house has a pool and a big yard, where he often posts pictures of himself chilling.
