In a post on her Instagram account recently, Connie shared a video from her Carpet Sunday where she speaks bout her grief and how grateful she is, for the messages of support she has been receiving ever since her hubby died.

Last month, Shona died from complications from COVID-19, and every Sunday, Connie lies on the carpet and talks about how she is doing.

"There are a lot of places in the bible where it is clear that grief is normal and we are allowed to grief. We are allowed to feel what we need to feel and cry but have hope and faith that joy comes in the morning and saying that does not mean that you will wake up in the morning and be happy. I'm finding that is a process I know that a lot of people are walking this journey with me and most of you on social media I see your messages and I hear about your comments and I feel your support. I give glory to  God that I have many people walking this journey with me."

The actress shared bible verses that give her comfort during this period of grief.

“He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds, curing their pains and their sorrows.”
( Psalm 147:3 )

“The maidens will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness. I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.”
( Jeremiah 31:13 )

“You will grieve but your grief will turn to joy.”
( John 16:20 )

A few days ago Connie shared a scene from The Wild where she was acting alongside Shona as a couple. Although the scene's voice-over was in French, she said she was grateful to have had a husband like Shona.

"Once upon a time in THE WILD! Heaven is so lucky! And how blessed were we to experience this SOUL!🙏🏾 How blessed am I to call him my husband! And now MY ANGEL!🙏🏾

As Connie continues to celebrate the life of Shona she recently shared a romantic message she received from Shona and it melted the hearts of many people.

“I came across a message on my laptop that he sent to me. So this text message was sent on the 22nd of April 2017. And he said to me – I just remembered the first day we met. He asked if I had not asked for his phone number, where would we be right now. If I had not kissed you on day three, where would we be? If you had not gone to Botswana that weekend, where would we be? I love you, baby.”

She also promised to continue Shona's legacy. “Shona lived. He came into the industry like a tornado. Mr Ferguson was the most underrated actor in this country. As a performer, as an artist. I don’t think we appreciated him enough. I think we are showing appreciation now that he is gone. But here’s what I’m grateful for, I can feel that this angel was loved by many. I can feel that he was revered by many. And where he is now, if you think Ferguson films is great, know that Ferguson films is great. Because that is my husband’s legacy, and it is going to continue growing from strength to strength If I have anything to do with it.”
