In an emotional moment at the DSTV Mzansi Viewer’s Choice Awards where stars of the entertainment industry were being recognized for their hard work and talent, Connie Ferguson scooped as award for Favorite Personality. Making her the most loved media personality in Mzansi. What was supposed to be a blissful moment left fans wondering if she was sad or not. Many people however thought she was holding back tears in an emotional moment where she had to bag an award without her husband around.

Ferguson lost her husband last year due to covid-19 complications. The two were couple goals, always side by side smashing goals together. They were true marriage definition. Fans loved how Shona Ferguson gave his wife some unconditional love every chance he got. We indeed miss him, and we are aggrieved just like Connie. We loved them dearly. It must have been one of the hardest nights for her as she had to bag a huge award without her husband next to her to say congratulations. We feel your pain Mrs Sho.

One of the highlights of the night was when she gave an acceptance speech which left fans in tears. Many commended her for loving her husband beyond the grave, that she has loved her husband unconditionally even in death. This is what made fans wonder if she was happy to receive an award or not. Truth is, it was one of the most emotional nights for her. She had to be bold enough in front of multitudes and show her bravery. This is what she had to say during her acceptance speech, one of the speeches that will go down history as one of the most heartfelt speeches.

"I would like to dedicate this award to my best friend. Someone who meant the world to me and continues to mean the world to me. Someone who believed in me more than I believed in myself. Someone who thought I was the best thing since sliced bread. Mr. Sho, I love you hubby, forever. May you continue resting in peace my love." 

Connie Ferguson is a Botswana native popular in Mzansi for her acting skills. She is a filmmaker, producer and businesswoman. She is famous for the character she played on Generations as ‘Karabo Moroka. It was one of the roles that marked her journey into the limelight. She has been a force ever since. Alongside her husband they launched a television company called Ferguson Films in 2010. Their company made productions like Rockville which was commissioned by M-net for 3 years. Other productions include ‘Gazi’, ‘The Gift’, ‘The Throne’, ‘The Queen’ and ‘The Imposter’. The lovebirds have been in a journey of fulfilment and growing together.
