With the looming prestigious event of the year in South Africa, Connie Ferguson just landed herself a role as one of the judges on the Miss South Africa pageant for 2019. But she is not the only famous woman on the panel as reigning Miss Universe, Catriona Gray, will also sit at the judges’ table. Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, radio personality Anele Mdoda, and model Thando Hopa complete the panel of the judges.

Some of this year’s diverse top 16 finalists include a woman who identifies as queer, a contestant with a unique birthmark on her face and two women who are considered plus-size in the modelling world.

Current Miss SA, Tamaryn Green, says she excited to see Catriona on the panel.

“Looking forward to welcoming our Miss Universe @catriona_gray to South Africa & showing her the beauty of our country,” she wrote on Instagram.

Now what would this event be like without Queen B as the host. Bonang is hosting the event for the second time around.

Miss SA 2019 will air on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161).
