Remember how a few weeks ago there were whispers that Bonang Matheba was set to host the 2019 YAMAs and Robbie Rob and Brando had been suspended because they had an issue with that? Well, well, well. It looks like the whispers were true.

Following a post by The Gazette about the event, Queen B sent out a tweet confirming that she will, in fact, be seeing us soon.

She's coming!

Bonang will be hosting alongside Leungo Andre Pitse on the 2nd of February at GICC.

Speaking on the Retro 5 theme, station manager Kelly Ramputswa said "Retro 5 is about reflection and rebirth. We realize that there is life beyond the stage. Through the 2019 YAMAs we're rolling out a springboard for growth beyond out artist's current exposure. It's about expanding their current networks, commericializing them and being exposed to personal growth strategies, amongst other plans. By sharing ideas with artists in these strategic platforms and workshops, artists who have achieved this internationally, we begin to make a difference beyond the awards". A noble effort.

Bonang recently hosted the Global Citizen concert and is one of the most sought after MCs in the world, who has worked with some of the biggest brands around, so we're definitely in for a treat.
