Boity โGogo Nomakhweziโ Thulo has made one thing clear in 2020, and that is that when it comes to the bag she is definitely not there to play any games. And now it seems that she has started to manifest her next bag.
Just this past week, Boity took to social media to make it official that she has completed her initiation process to becoming a fully-fledged sangoma or inyanga, as the star has not given clarity on which is which. However, what she did let us into was her new ancestral name this past week by re-introducing herself as Gogo Nomakhwezi. The name means when directly translated, she of light. And the sis has been doing all of that, and then some.
First, is the amount of bags that Boity has managed to accumulate during the lockdown has proven that we are all equal in the eyes of the Man upstairs, but some are more equal than others. From signing with Def Jam Africa, more successful singles, releasing her first eau de parfum, and most recent announcing and releasing her own haircare range for type two hair with Halo Heritage. The lockdown certainly did not do much to stop Boityโs bag.
And while collecting bags, Boity also made sure that another thing she got back was her body. The sis who was one of the first to break the internet over how fire her body is, had lost her way for a short while. But her comeback has been one for the books. Boity not only snapped back to a summer body. But she did something more, which was to embrace her curves and her womanly form, and just worked on making sure she looks toned and healthy. Her recent โroad tripโ of the Western Cape vine yards made sure we see all the content and wonder who was taking these images.
But now it seems that she is ready to tackle acquiring her next bag, and as we have come to learn about she-who-owns-her-throne is that the brand needs to align. Therefore, Gogo Nomakhwezi is looking to venture into snuff making. Snuff, which is a tobacco based product is popular amongst traditional healers as they use the product in their spiritual practice. But what uGogo found out was that none of the popular name brands are South African or black-owned entities, and she is looking to change that.
I donโt have the time to do it (YET), but can we please have more black owned companies making and selling our own brand of snuif? Ntsu le taxi ke tsa makgowa.
The inspiration for the idea came after Boity realized that she could intake the snuff in public and not get ridiculed for her actions. The freedom and lack of shaming was what has inspired her to possibly venture in the market, but uGogo is just waiting until a few more bags clear.
So refreshing that I can take snuif in public spaces without anyone giving me weird looks. So comforting. Love to see it. ๐๐๐๐พโจโค๏ธ
