His wife Connie Ferguson took to her Instagram account this morning to remember him. She said two months ago on this day, she needed a big hug from heaven after the untimely passing of her husband.

"Today was a tough day. I needed a big hug from heaven. By His grace I managed to get through work, and I was reminded that His power is made perfect in weakness. Grateful for His love and mercy," shared Connie.

On the 30th of August, Connie said Shona's passing still feels unreal and shared a word with those who have lost their loved ones, "Exactly a month today and it still feels surreal. It’s always been said that LEGENDS NEVER DIE! Only now do I really understand that saying and appreciate the following verse in a way I haven’t really before." She also promised to carry on his legacy.

The couple was one of South Africa's most adored couple in ZAlebville and they were a match made in heaven. They would often gush about each other on social media. Connie said they would often send each other romantic messages and she shared a heartwarming text message she received from Shona in 2017.

“I came across a message on the laptop that he sent to me. So this text message was sent on the 22nd of April 2017. And he said to me – I just remembered the first day we met. He asked if I had not asked for his phone number, where would we be right now. If I had not kissed you on day three, where would we be? If you had not gone to Botswana that weekend, where would we be? I love you, baby.”

Connie recently returned to work to carry on Shona's legacy. It has been a couple weeks since The fitness enthusiast boxed. Slowly, she is returning to her old routine. On Instagram, she posted a series of videos showing a boxing workout she did with her personal trainer at her house.

She gave us major workout goals despite the fact that she hasn't done it in a while. Her coach even threw punches at her and she was dodging them.  Many of us were beaming with joy after watching the videos.

Connie has also committed herself to continue his legacy. “Shona lived. He came into the industry like a tornado. Mr Ferguson was the most underrated actor in this country. As a performer, as an artist. I don’t think we appreciated him enough. I think we are showing appreciation now that he is gone. But here’s what I’m grateful for, I can feel that this angel was loved by many. I can feel that he was revered by many. And where he is now, if you think Ferguson films is great, know that Ferguson films is great. Because that is my husband’s legacy, and it is going to continue growing from strength to strength If I have anything to do with it.”
