The universe is a box filled with limitless secrets, from the secrets of life to the secrets of death. Since the dawn of time, people have been turning to their spiritual side to try to explain or understand many of these mysteries, or simply to satisfy a need for fame, love, healing, or money. Celebrities are no different when it comes to practicing muthi, and most of them don't even disguise it anymore. Many people are open about their spiritual side and seek advice from their "ancestors" on a number of topics.

Some of our fav famous faces have either been suspected, accused or out rightly admitted to using or dabbling in muthi- here they are.

Zodwa Wabantu is at the top of the list. There's no disputing that the entertainer's every move is packed with controversy. Whether it's dating 'Ben10's, being a self-proclaimed panty-less dancer, or being barred from various countries, she has a knack for getting people talking. Zodwa's honest confession that her success is directly due to her practice of muthi definitely shocked her fans. She reiterated her admission when she posted a video on Instagram of herself seeing a traditional doctor.

Next up comes Sjava, South African singer and actor. The singer has also been vocal about his use of muthi, stating that it is a cultural tradition in which he prides himself in. Some of his followers have suspected that his success is due to the cultural practices, however he has not stated it openly.

The next person on our list is Mampintsha Shimora, a well-known music producer. He has been accused of using muthi despite the fact that he has never admitted to doing so. Surprisingly, it was his 'father in-law' who brought about the claims. In an interview, his 'father in-law,' Reverend Mbongeni Simelane, said that witchcraft was the only reason his daughter was still with Mampintsha, who had regularly assaulted her - even on camera.

Another unexpected name on the list is Teko Modise, a professional footballer. During his time with the Orlando Pirates, the footballer admitted to having several encounters with muthi. The sportsman explained how his former football club employed muthi to win games and how players were expected to soak their socks in various 'medicines' before games. Crazy!

Another favorite personality, Bonang Matheba, has been accused of the practice. Her brief relationship with rapper AKA ended in a disagreement, with the rapper accusing her of using muthi to force him to abandon his baby mother and fall in love with her. Obviously, queen B did not respond to these allegations, and the news faded shortly; however, because to its insanity, the accusations continues to live rent free in our thoughts.

Our list is concluded with Boity Thulo, a South African sweetheart, rapper, and businesswoman. This media personality has explained her ancestral calling and what it means to her. She's also been candid about her choice to become a sangoma.
