Sadi Dikgaka Pays Tribute To Karabo Hassan Dube

"One of the hardest farewells I’ve ever had to say"

The nation is still mourning the passing of celebrity photographer Karabo Hassan Dube affectionately known to many as Tronic Hassan, who recently passed on after an illness. Tributes and messages of condolences have been pouring in since the news of his passing broke out, and they have not stopped.

TV presenter Sadi Dikgaka took to her Instagram account to pen a heartfelt tribute to Karabo. She expressed how saddened she is by his untimely departure and said she is going to miss him.

"One of the hardest farewells I’ve ever had to say. You were always so driven, so thoughtful, and radiated so much positivity. Now I can only remember the crazy looks you’d give me for calling you “my son, Hassan”. Thank you for sharing your light and love with us. My heart is so sore, I can’t lie. I’m going to miss you so much. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this. It will take me time. Rest in peace, brother. I love you always,"
she wrote.

According to a statement released by his family through social media, the photographer died on 19 July 2021 due to COVID-19 related complications.

"It is with deep sorrow and sadness that the Dube, Khan, and Hirschfeld families announce the passing of their son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin, Karabo Hassan Dube.

Karabo, popularly known as Tronic-Hassan, from his label, TronicArts, passed away on 19th July 2021, from COVID-19 complications at the age of 25 years. 
On behalf of his family, we consider ourselves extremely blessed to have shared the time God gave us on earth with him, to have experienced firsthand, his kindness, cheerful attitude, and to have witnessed his amazing natural talent as a photographer grows from strength to strength."

Karabo’s family revealed that he was admitted to Sidilega Private Hospital, and they expressed gratitude to the team that helped save his life.

"We would like to extend our gratitude to the Sidilega Private Hospital medical team for doing all they could to save our beloved Karabo and for making him as comfortable as they could during his last days. Karabo, you are loved and deeply missed by all of us, may your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace."

They said that his funeral arrangements will be announced soon. Karabo was one of the country's most sought-after photographers. He worked with the likes of Sasa Klaas, Marang, and Mpho Sebina

 Marang Selolwane paid tribute to him recently on her Instagram stories, she wrote 'It's too much. Such a lovely, jolly spirit. All this talent rests."

Mpho Sebina sang his praises and said she was glad to have had the chance to work with him and witness his talent, "Glad to have been able to witness your artistry in this lifetime. Rest in eternal glory King."

Tumie Nthutang shared "I have been staring at this picture in disbelief, replaying the last time I saw you in person and going through people's current posts trying to find the right words and all that keeps coming to my mind is simply 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You were kind, so talented. Rest easy till we meet again."
