Award-winning actress Thembsie Matu has a lot to be happy about. Apart from her role in the hugely popular show, The Queen (Mzansi Magic), her son, Unathi Neo Matu, has graduated with a Masters of Engineering degree.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, the ‘Petronella’ actress cheers “Congratulations on your amazing achievement mfana wam @unathimatu. Siyabonga that you did not give up and continued to fight despite the hardships you faced. Halala” 

The post has received a lot of praise from her fans, with celebrities such as Mapula Mafole congratulating them on their achievement on the post.

Acting Runs in the Family


Thembsie Matu is a well-known actress who has been on ETV’s show Rhythm City as the character ‘Sis Bee’. She had a recurring role in the SABC3 drama TV series The Lab. She is now most famous for her role as Petronella on ‘The Queen’. Her character’s bubbly charm has won the hearts of many.

Lesser known is her son – who also plays a character in the telenovela. The young graduate has been seen in The Queen as Schumacher’s lover; Sipho. The actor has been praised for his dramatic and hilarious portrayal of the character. This is yet another addition to his list of achievements.
