Emma Wareus’ parents are quite prominent like herself. Her mother is Tshepho Chapel-Wareus who won the Miss Botswana title in 1978 when she was only 19 years old. 32 years later in 2010, Emma Wareus was also crowned Miss Botswana and at the time she was also 19 years old.
After retiring from the runway, Emma Wareus’ mother joined the political world. At some point, she served as a councillor and in 2014, she got elected to Kweneng District Council as vice president, becoming the first woman to ever hold that position in the district.

Emma Wareus’ father is a Swedish man called Jan Wareus. According to his Linkedin profile, Jan Wareus is a retired architect and planner with over 45 years of experience in the field in both Botswana and Sweden.

Emma Wareus has several half-siblings from her father’s previous marriage and a few full-siblings including a big brother named Olle Wareus.
Although she was mostly raised in Botswana, Emma Wareus spent a great deal of time in Sweden with her father and her half-siblings.

In 2020, Emma Wareus received her Masters’ degree from Elliott School of International Affairs and she is currently the director of operations for a tech company called Dobby.
