It’s always a matter of pride when an artist does well. Emtee’s new single iThemba hit the number one spot on Spotify. In just 48 hours, the track is also doing well on other streaming platforms too. Emtee is getting a lot of praise from fans all over social media.
A hot track
The track is quite the fiery, inspirational song. It has lyrics that describe Emtee’s journey to hustle money and how he keeps on persevering even after making mistakes. A few lines are, “No pain, no gain, I’m just trying to get paid. Hustle hard every day, don’t throw in the towel. Don’t give up now. Raise your chin up now. I say don’t throw in the towel. I made some mistakes, I’m not a saint. I was on them things every day, trying to ease up the pain. Had to switch up the lane, I’m taking off like a plane, I can never be tamed.”
We wonder how autobiographical these lyrics are? Is Emtee alluding to past substance abuse? We’re glad that he was able to fight through it and create something healthy out of his experience. The song is high on relatability and we can see why fans are vibing so much with it.
On his Twitter, Emtee’s gone ahead and thanked his producer and other inspirations who helped him create this track. He’s keeping everyone up to date with his interviews and other promo activities surrounding this track. His fans love it and are showering him with love and appreciation.
All this, while the drama in his personal life continues!
Apart from creating music, the rapper loves stirring the pot and teasing his fans regarding his personal life. Recently, he got into trouble with his wife Nicole Kendall Chimzamy for saying that she is abusive and wants him to fail. He spone to Mzansi about how his wife is controlling. After this, he claimed that his wife kicked him out of the house and that he’s currently living with a friend.
By way of saying sorry, he said, “I’d like to apologise to the mother of my children, my wife Nicole. I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. I love you Mrs Ndevu.”
Tweeps rarely take him seriously though. The last time, he claimed that he got into his 5th car accident. He didn’t share any proof, pictures, or other details of this incident. Then he released iThemba the next day. It’s totally possible that Emtee’s just pulling our legs and doing music promotion at the same time. That kind of shock-value marketing is expected of artists these days, though. We’re happy his music is making waves and we’re waiting for more.
