Miss Geekays revealed that before her mother passed on she had been battling cancer for a year and a half and in the last few days, she was recovering from COVID-19.

"After a year and a half of battling Cancer (Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia CMML) and recovering from COVID 19 in her last days my best friend has gone to be with the Lord." "I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who have helped us and been there for us during this time. Rest in eternal peace mama. I love you always & forever ♥️,"
she tweeted.

In a post early this year Khumo had pleaded with her followers to help donate blood for her mom who was not feeling well at the time. "It’s real. There is no blood in Botswana. My mum is in desperate need of blood. If you are A- or O- please help us so my mum can get better. Kindly DM if you are willing to assist," she wrote

Her fans inundated her post with messages of well wishes for her mom and many expressed their willingness to take part in this noble cause. Some of her fans who qualified to donate blood for her mom agreed to assist her. Miss Geekays later posted pictures of her fans donating blood for her mom and it was a beautiful thing to see.

Another star who often remembers her mother with touching messages is media mogul Connie Ferguson. "Not a day goes by without me thinking about you or talking about you!😇 Happy birthday in heaven Mommy! (Would be 76 today!) I Love You Always & Forever.” 💐🕊🕊," she shared.

Connie lost her mother in 2013, in a post on Instagram, she paid tribute to her, “Moms, I will never stop loving you. Never stop missing you. I cherish all the memories I have of you. Sometimes your physical absence doesn’t feel real. Sometimes I think it’s all a dream, that I’ll wake up to a text message from you first thing in the morning. Those were my favorite!” she wrote
