Award-winning radio presenter DJ Fresh, has warned South Africans to use their freedom wisely following months of being locked up indoors.

The country's president Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced that SA will be moving to alert level 1 from midnight on Sunday 20 September 2020.

The move to alert level 1 means there will be a further easing in a number of restrictions including gathering, international travels and the re-opening of borders.

Addressing the nation the president said, "Social, religious, political and other gatherings will be permitted, as long as the number of people does not exceed 50% of the normal capacity of a venue, up to a maximum of 250 people for indoor gatherings and 500 people for outdoor gatherings."

The announcement that a number of restrictions will be lifted left many South Africans excited, especially artists who will now be able to secure the bag with various bookings from events. The re-opening of borders and allowing international travels will see artists being able to travel to different countries, to give their legion of fans a taste of what SA music feels like.

DJ Fresh took to Twitter to warn them that they should behave. In a tweet the DJ said "We have one job: “ DON’T F*** THIS UP!”!!! #LockdownLevel1"

The DJ was recently announced as one of the 2020 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) nominees. AFRIMMA is the sole award ceremony in the Diaspora that caters for all music genres. It also creates a platform that promotes the diversity of African music by bringing influential artists from different African Countries.

The awards are expected to be hosted virtually this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and the DJ is nominated for the Best Radio Personality.

DJ Fresh is one of the country's most successful media personalities who is based in South Africa. The DJ has been on radio for several and his career on the entertainment industry is soaring.

Fresh was recently accused of rape by Ntsiki Mazwai. Following their legal battle the Johannesburg High Court ruled that Ntsiki was no longer allowed to speak about DJ Fresh on any public forum. The court said she infringed on the DJ's rights.

Dj Fresh also decided to release a statement following being lambasted on social media for being quiet and claimed that his legal team had originally asked Ntsiki to remove her post, based on the fact that it was completely false and tarnished the work he has done to promote eradicating Gender Based Violence
