Botswana musician Vee Mampeezy spent most of his early life in Hukuntsi and Gaborone, Botswana. Born Odirile Vee Sento, he is popularly known by his stage name Vee Mampeezy. How did Vee Mampeezy start his music career?

Vee Mampeezy got into the entertainment industry in 2002 when he released his debut album, Lamalanga. At the start of his career, Vee revealed that record labels didn’t want to sign him because they never fancied his music. 

Nonetheless, he believed in himself so much that he sold some of his belongings - Timberland shoes, phone and his CD player - in order to raise funds to kick start his music career. Through this, he was able to record his first song.

A heated argument erupted between the two after Kagiso received a phone call from “one of Vee’s fans according to her. Vee did not want to hear any of her explanations and is said to have smashed his wife’s phone. In retaliation, Kagiso allegedly smashed his cars but denied claims that they got physical. Broadhurst Police Station confirmed the incident. 

As per Vee’s wife, the dramatic turn of events that took place as the couple ushered in the new year, was the result of her husband’s insecurities about their relationship. Kagiso further said that the incident led to police intervention. 

Even so, a criminal case wasn’t opened. Both parties opted to have the matter handled as a family issue.
