Han-C whose real name is Hanceford Magapatona was born on 18 December 1994 in Mahalapye, Botswana. He was named after a veteran Zambian guitarist Hanceford Mutamba. During his tertiary education, Han-C pursued a course in multimedia.
Han-C was in the music scene before he got his breakthrough in 2016 when he featured in Sedi Laaka alongside Chrispin The Drummer & Team Distant. The song was a hit and won him the Best New Artist Award. Han-C sings in his native Setswana and addresses daily life experiences, an approach that has endeared him to listeners.
In 2017, Han-C released the song ‘Se Ileng’ which is one of the songs in his 13-track album “On My Own”. This song received massive airplay on local radio stations like Duma FM, Gabz FM and Yarona FM.
In 2020, Han-C released his second album “Reflections”. Some of his songs include “Bonya Bonya”, "Lerato", “Chelete”, and “Kokotesta”.
In his music career so far, Han-C has worked with local and international artists like Berry Bone, Vee Mampeezy, Charma Gal, DJ Izzy, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Dr Malinga, Burna Boy, and others.
Recently, Han-C has done a regional collaboration with music producer Mr Brown, Makhadzisa and Nutty O.
In a Q&A session with Local Corner Multimedia, Han C stated that he is not gay. Many assume that he is probably because he has a soft voice but the musician repeatedly said he’s not part of the LGBTQ community. Han C did reveal that he’s dating but did not share the identity of his girlfriend.
Han C is the owner of a white Volkswagen. Though he’s posted numerous photos beside his vehicle, it’s not clear what model his VW is.
