Rapper Boitumelo Thulo aka Boity is South Africa’s sweetheart. Boity has worked her way up the ladder and made a name for herself within the entertainment industry. Although many know her as a rapper, she wears many other hats, in addition to her music career, Boity is a media personality, actress, model and businesswoman.

Although Boity only began her music career in 2017 when she joined Nasty C on stage during the Migos Culture Tour, she has made great strides within the industry. She released her debut single ‘Wuz Dat’ in 2018 and the single went on to become the best selling record of all time by a female rapper in South Africa. 'Wuz Dat' was also the first ever single by a female rapper in South Africa to be certified Platinum. The single which featured fellow rapper Nasty C won the award for ‘Best Collab’ at the 2018 South African Hip-Hop Awards (SAMAs).

It was only up from there for her music career and in the following year 2019, she released her second single titled "Bakae'' and in 2020 released her EP 4436 which has been nominated for Best Hip Hop album 2021 at the 27th Annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs 27). Hopefully she’ll be performing in Bots soon.

She first graced our screens back in 2010 when she appeared in a Wimpy commercial and from there she began her ascent into the limelight and never looked back. The rapper does not shy away from trying her hand in business and her entrepreneurial spirit landed her a spot in the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 class of 2019. This year Boity is one of the South African stars who was nominated for the E! People’s Choice Award category African Social Star of 2021. She was nominated alongside other stars such as Falz from Nigeria, and fellow South Africans Mihlali and Lasizwe. Voting lines are open and we wish them all the best of luck!

Boity was recently involved in a physical altercation with radio personality Bujy Bikwa. The incident happened in a hotel in Johannesburg and the star later confirmed it on her social media. She is currently demanding a settlement of R1 million plus R200,000 to cover the medical expenses.
